Google Now Supports NOODP Meta Tag - Control Your Titles And Descriptions

I posted back in May about MSN supporting a meta tag that blocks old, funky Open Directory descriptions from being pulled into your search results.
Well, Google has followed suit and now supports the general "all engines tag" or a Google specific tag.
Google also will not use the Title from your ODP listing.

< META NAME="GOOGLEBOT" CONTENT="NOODP" >
Or, the increasingly standardized option:
< META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP" >

Meta Opt Out of ODP Descriptions At MSN Search

If your Open Directory Project descriptions are outdated, you can now easily prevent MSN from pulling those into their search results.

< META NAME="msnbot" CONTENT="NOODP" >
Or, in case it becomes a standardized option with more engines:

Get Google Crawler Reports - Auto SEO?

Matt Cutts, a Google employee, has posted info about Google's Sitemaps webmaster console being improved to offer reports about the performance of your site in the eyes of the Google Crawler.
And you don't even have to actually use Sitemaps to take advantage of the reporting.

This will allow you to review over 40 different error messages from the crawler. Now you can see exactly what problems your pages have in regards to getting indexed.

From Matt's blog:
"For example, you can now see crawl errors, timeouts on pages, robots.txt errors, unreachable urls, etc. Just really useful hard data that tells you if you have crawl problems and what they are. And you do not need a sitemap to use this functionality. You just create an empty file to verify that you own the domain."

"Google Bowl" Your Competition Out Of Google

Wow...
I'm just posting this as an example of how you can dissapear from Google at any time and through no fault of your own.

There's an apparent flaw in Google's methodology for penalizing paid site-wide text link ads.

There's never a cut and dried answer to the question, "Why did Google drop my site!".
